Amateur Radio Service Examination in Bangladesh 2017

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has announced, ‘Amateur Radio Service licensing examination 2017. Examination will be held on 19th of August 2017.

Amateur radio (also called ham radio) is the use of designated radio frequency spectra for purposes of private recreation, non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, and emergency communication.

The term “amateur” is used to specify persons interested in radio technique solely with a personal aim and without direct pecuniary interest, and to differentiate it from commercial broadcasting, public safety (such as police and fire), or professional two-way radio  services (such as maritime, aviation, taxis, etc.).

Amateur or ham radios may serve as the one of the important means of telecommunication in case of natural disasters or other emergencies.

BTRC provides licenses and call-signs for amateur radio operators. Details of examination can be found in BTRC website www.btrc.gov.bd
