Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication @ World Radio Day International Committee

The success of World Radio Day would not be possible without the contribution and support of the World Radio Day Committee. The Committee was created in March of 2012, shortly after UNESCO’s proclamation of World Radio Day, and held its first official meeting on 11 September 2012 in Madrid at the International Press Center.

Comprised of major regional and international broadcasting associations covering every continent, as well as key intergovernmental bodies, the Committee meets twice per year at UNESCO Headquarters to decide upon the strategy, direction and theme for each edition of World Radio Day. It also discusses important issues relevant to the radio sector, to ensure radio continues to be an accessible and powerful medium well into the 21st Century.
