ADVANCING WOMEN’S POLITICAL PARTICIPATION
Women’s political and civic participation is a fundamental prerequisite for gender equality and meaningful democracy, and therefore it aims to harness the power of the media to inform, educate and promote gender-sensitive governance reforms. The project approaches the challenge of the exclusion of women from full political and civic participation in Bangladesh by focusing on women’s empowerment at the intersection of media, civil society and local governance ahead of national elections due in December 2018.
Fellowship for Rural Youth and Youth Women in Community Journalism
Along empowerment and employment, the community media fellowship program has contributed in creating an enabling environment for the rural youth (representing excluded groups in the Community Radio (CR) Station coverage areas) in media. In 2018, 94 rural youth applicants were eager to partake in community media fellowship program.
Engaging Fathers to Prevent Child Marriage at Communities through Community Radio Stations in Bangladesh
The main objective of the program was to collect recommendations from men and boys on strategies to motivate fathers to end child marriage.
