Two days long hands-on training workshop on Amateur Radio Operation in Bangladesh

Dhaka, September 15, 2021: Bangladesh NGO’s Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) organized a two-day-long hands-on training workshop at BNNRC Meeting Room in Dhaka on Amateur Radio Operation and Radio Set Handover with the support of COAST Foundation on 14-15 September 2021.

The purpose of the workshop was to provide hands-on skills on amateur radio management and communication techniques and to maintain the logbook, QSL cards, etc. as per the instructions of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.

A total of four amateur radio call sign holders participated in the training workshop. The Amateur Radio Holders are; S21FH – Mr. Md. Fazlul Haque, S21LU – Mr. Zahangir Alam,  S21DF – Mr. Md. Delowar Hosen,  and S21PA – Ms. Protiva Banerjee, BNNRC.

In the closing session, Mr. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Executive Director at COAST Foundation and Chairman of BNNRC Board of Trust has handed over the radio set and Certificate of the participants as Chief Guest. When Mr. Rafiqul Alam, Executive Director of Dwip Unnayan Songstha also present as the Guest.

 

The workshop focuses on the practical session on Radio propagation, the process to the installation of Inverted V Dipole Antenna, Radio Feeder Cable and good connectors, calculation of the Antenna size, process of start or Switch on a Radio, Band selection, radio’s TX Power and SWR/ Signal to Noise Ratio measurement, Communication Techniques of Radio holder to radio holders, managing logbook, overall safety issue and importance of Amateur radio communication.

These sessions were facilitated by Mr. Manjurul Haque – S21AM, Amateur Radio specialist, and AHM Bazlur Rahman – S21BR.
