Ten Youth Women and Youth received Bangladesh Community Radio Video Challenge Award-2015

Ten Youth Women and Youth from 07 community radio stations broadcasting areas of the Bangladesh received “Community Radio Video Challenge (CRVC)-2015 “award in a short film competition introduced for the first time in Bangladesh.

The program was organized by Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) in collaboration with Commonwealth Educational Media Center for Asia (CEMCA)

Kaisar Riday from Community Radio Padma 99.2 area received the 1st prize. The second prize has been jointly shared by Md Ohidul Islam, Community Radio  Jhenuk area  and Kamrul Hasan Polash of Community Radio Chilmari area.

The third winners in third position are three.They are: Monira Alam Mimi Community Radio Chilmari area, Md.Mostafizur Rahman, Community Radio Borendra area  and Biplob Kanti Dev, Community Radio Pollikontha area.

Four other contestants received the Merit award.They are Sanjoy Chowdhury, Community Radio Sagargiri area, Mahfuj Faruq, Community Radio Sagardwip Area, Mijanur Rahman Dipu, Community Radio Chilmari area  and Md. Mijabur Rahman Mijan, Community Radio Chilmari area.

The short film competition titled as: “Community Radio Video Challenge-2015” has been organized during the month of June under the initiatives of Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) in collaboration with Commonwealth Educational Media Center for Asia (CEMCA) aiming to encourage the importance and role of community radio in making change and improvement in rural people’s lives in Bangladesh.

The theme of the completion was: Community Radio: Citizens’ voices: Empowering Societies. Responding to the call for film submission 17 participants from 15 community radio station area submitted 20 short films (of 3 minutes duration each) ,which they have uploaded in You tube, Vimeo or Blip.TV.

Later,  a jury Board formed by BNNRC. The Jury Board is composed of 4 veteran film makers and journalists from electronic TV Channels. They were: Mr.Harun-ur-Rshid ( Dutche valle ), Mr. Ameen Al Rashid(Channel 24), Ms. Nadia Sharmeen (Ekattar TV) and Mr. Fahin Arfin Evan (Ekushey TV). The winners will be awarded very soon.
