The Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) has recently called for actionable steps to address the threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

While pharmaceutical companies play a crucial role in combating AMR, the following recommendations are specifically designed for United Nations Member States to consider during this year’s High-level Meeting on AMR. These recommendations were developed and endorsed by more than 100 members of the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform (MSPP).

During the event, it was emphasized that there is a need for equitable access to existing and new antimicrobials, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Additionally, measures were discussed that can be implemented to develop new treatments and tools that target the deadliest infections. By considering access needs and R&D priorities in the run-up to #UNGA, we have a major opportunity to take action in curbing AMR.
