Bangladesh will celebrate World Radio Day 2017

6th UN World Radio Day 2015 is going to be observed in local and national level in Bangladesh on 13 February 2017. In the meanwhile, all radio station like Public Service Broadcasting, Private Broadcasting and Community Broadcasting are preparing them for celebrating the day 6th time in Bangladesh under the leadership of Bangladesh Betar of Ministry for Information, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

The theme for this six edition is Radio Is You. In this occasion Bangladesh Betar will arrange a Colorful Rally, Seminar, Cultural Program at national level. Representative from media, practitioners, civil society members, administration and delegates from different level of the society will be invited in the event.

Besides, 12 Bangladesh Betar (Radio) regional stations and 17 Community Radio stations in rural Bangladesh decided to organize colourful rally and seminar on the occasion. The theme of this year: Radio is you! Honorable Minister for Ministry of Information Mr. H E Hasanul Haq Inu MP will attend as Chief Guest, while Mr. Mortuza Ahmed, secretary, Ministry of Information will be the special guest in the program.

The day long program will start with a rally at 8 am from Betar Bhaban, Agargaon which will travel up to Shishumela and come back.The discussion will be started at 2 p.m at Betar bhaban premises, Agargaon. Deputy Director General (Program) will give welcome speech. The other speakers will include Deputy Director General (News), Chief Engineer, Bangladesh Betar and representative from each of the sectors of commercial FM, community radio FM and radio listeners group. Secretary, Ministry of Information will deliver his speech as special guest and Honorable Minister will deliver his speech as Chief Guest.

The discussion program will be followed by special cultural events. It can be mentioned that both discussion and cultural programs will be broadcast live from Bangladesh Betar.
