Radio program for the Youth, by the Youth of the Youth: 4th World Radio day 2015 observed in Bangladesh

Radio is the most accessible communication media since long, the our youth women and youth community should get equal rights to the use of Radio -said  Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, MP Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Information, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh  while he was speaking as Chief Guest in the opening ceremony of at Bangladesh Betar Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka.

Abul Maal Abdul Muhith told, Radio has strengthened our liberation struggle. Radio has played a great role in disaster preparedness. There is no alternative for Radio to have access to information stock. Radio can link to the wider audience in a most affordable and quickest way.

The opening program was organized on the occasion of observing the World Radio Day.

 

 

Mr. Murtuza Ahmed Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Information, Advocate Tarana Halim, MP, & Mr. Sukumar Ranjan Ghosh, MP, member of parliamentary standing committee for Ministry of information attended as Special guests. Mr. Kazi Akhter Uddin Ahmed, (Additional Secretary) Director General of Bangladesh Betar presided over the opening ceremony.

Informed citizenship and the fundamental right to freedom of expression and information at rural level can be guaranteed in any democratic society through Radio – said Professor Dr. Gowher Rizvi, International Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh while he was speaking as Chief Guest in the closing ceremony of at Bangladesh Betar Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka.

Mr. Murtuza Ahmed Hon’ble Secretary Ministry of Information & Mr. Ramendu Majumdar President, International Theatre Institute (ITI) as Special guests. Mr. Kazi Akhter Uddin Ahmed, (Additional Secretary) Director General of Bangladesh Betar presided over the closing ceremony.

Professor Dr. Gowher Rizvi told, In mass communication, Radio is a powerful instrument. Radio program needs to be archived/preserved and to make the programs more participatory by the youth and youth women; we need to conduct radio programs at field level. Community Radio has already been popular in Bangladesh, We hope, Community Radio will have a great role in poverty alleviation, He expected Radio will strengthen its efforts in implementing vision 2021 of Bangladesh Government plan and MDG.
